WELCOME to the Washington DC Metro Area Chapter of NAAAHR! The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) is an organization committed to providing a forum where you—the current or aspiring African-American Human Resources professional, can network, share, learn, and provide leadership on issues affecting your career, and the quality of work/life for the workforces we support. As a professional HR organization, we aim to advance knowledge in the theory and practice of HR management for practitioners at all levels. To that end, the Washington DC NAAAHR Chapter represents HR professionals, consultants and vendors from Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia.
Additionally, our goal is to provide a wide range of professional development programs that will support our effectiveness as HR professionals. We will pay particular attention to those challenges that face us as People of Color in non-profits, corporations and public organizations. Though we provide support for ALL sectors, particular attention will also be given to the needs of the large group of HR professionals in the public sector—after all, this is DC! And lastly, we will develop and maintain reciprocal relationships with the other HR professional organizations in the area, such as the SHRM, ASTD, CBODN and others.
Our VISION
To be the "first stop" for networking, support, professional development and thought leadership for Human Resources issues effecting African Americans. And, to enhance thought leadership in the broader Human Resources community on topics of particular interest or importance to the African American community.
Our MISSION
To inspire and foster performance excellence and career achievement for African American HR professionals by:
